During Great Lent, Orthodox Christians fast, and refrain, from meat and dairy, and all products that contain them. Our diet is vegan for 40 days of the Lent, and during Holy Week. The only two days on which fish is permitted are the Feast of the Annunciation (3/25) and Palm Sundy.
Therefore, during the season of Great Lent, no meat or dairy, or products containing them should be offered at Coffee Hour in the church. Even if, at home, we do not fast strictly, we should do so when in church. If you sign up to sponsor the Coffee Hour during this season, please keep in mind these Fasting regulations. Thank you!
