Blessing of Cars
We will bless cars next Sunday following Divine Liturgy. Each year we bless our cars around the feast of St. Elijah (July 20th). Our cars are important in our lives. As we bless them, we are mindful of three things:
Gratitude! Our cars are beautiful and comfortable. They allow us to go many places and enjoy the world around us. Where would we be without our cars? We are grateful for our cars and we thank God that we are able to own them and use them.
Safety! May God protect us as we drive so that we don’t harm ourselves or others.
Stewardship! As with all gifts from God—we use them to glorify Him. We use our cars for work, family, recreation, and service to others. May the use of our cars be well pleasing unto God.
