The "Kursk Root Icon" visited Holy Trinity on March 5

13th Century Kursk Root Icon visited Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, Stroudsburg

The Kursk Root Icon, one of the most famous ancient Icons (a type of religious painting) of the Russian Orthodox Church, known for its miracles and healing will be visiting Stroudsburg, PA. The caretaker of the Icon brought it to Holy Trinity Orthodox Church at 1501 Trinity Court, Stroudsburg, on Wednesday, March 5th. The icon was available for public veneration beginning at 2 PM at the church. An Akathist service was performed by Father Nicholas J. Solak at 4 PM. This was a historic occasion, the first time that the icon has visited Stroudsburg, PA.
